Venezuela Earthquake Victims Need Our Help!
Dear Friends,
As you have likely seen, the people of Venezuela are suffering enormously from devastating earthquakes. As of today, nearly 1,000 people have lost their lives, and more than 3,000 have been injured. Some media reports note that more than 40,000 people are missing. These numbers will only grow over the hours and days ahead.
The Catholic Church, through Catholic Relief Services (CRS), is working through Caritas Venezuela and the local Church to quickly deliver emergency shelter, food, safe water, medical care, and other critical relief to those affected.
To help meet this expanding need, Archbishop Henning has asked the parishes of the Archdiocese to con- sider a special collection to support our brothers and sisters in need in Venezuela.
The special collection for Saint Julia Parish will take place on July 18 and 19.
Please address your checks to: Saint Julia Parish, with “Venezuela Relief” in the memo. The parish will forward the collection to the Archdiocese, where the funds raised will be sent to CRS.
Your generosity has been essential during previous natural disasters. Any consideration you can give is greatly appreciated.
God bless!
