The St. Julia Sodality is dedicated to fostering spirituality and knowledge of God through Mary, Our Blessed Mother. Jesuit priests started Sodalities in the 1600’s. The St. Julia Sodality has been active for over 60 years, engaging in both religious and social activities. Both men and women are welcome. Father Evans is spiritual advisor.
Activities include prayers and rosaries at the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament on First Fridays, with guest speakers’ inspirational presentations after gathering for brown-bag lunches, with beverages and desserts provided.
The Sodality sponsors the Parish Annual Christmas luncheon at the local restaurant, and in recent years the Embassy Suites Hotel.
We host speakers. Such as the 2 Seminarians from Pope St. John XXIII Seminary, who come and share their interesting journeys to the Priesthood.
The Sodality hosts the Weston townwide Annual World Day of Prayer. This year the Christian Women of Cuba have written the Service for the world to celebrate.
Sodality members and First Communicants participate in the Annual May Procession honoring Our Blessed Mother Mary.
Our current projects include encouraging parishioners to participate in our activities, to promote First Friday devotions and First Saturday devotions with rosaries, videos, and sharing.
In the past, Sodality provided 2 Parish Retreats, but decreased core membership could not sustain both events. This year, the retreat master is Father Paul Kenney, S.J.
Our chief need is for the parish to hear of our good works and to join in membership. That will increase participation and expansion, especially in the faith that is derived from devotion to Our Lady, Mother of God, who brings us to her Son, Jesus Christ.
