Prepare for the Coming of Christ: ADVENT Prayer Meditation Wednesday, December 20th at 7-8 pm in St. Julia Church
“While Joseph and Mary were in Bethlehem,
the time came for Mary to have her child,
and she gave birth to her firstborn son.
She wrapped him in swaddling clothes
and laid him in a manger,
because there was no room for them in the inn.
– Luke 2
As a companion to the Fr. Tom Fitzpatrick’s recent prayer and poetry evening “Advent: Waiting for God,” we are offering an Advent Prayer Service on Wednesday, 12/20 at St. Julia Church in Weston, from 7-8pm.
We invite you to prayerfully prepare for Jesus coming into creation during Advent. At this time of year, our world can become cluttered with hyperactivity, gift giving, and mandatory responsibilities, sometimes to the point of exhaustion.
But, Advent calls us to remember what God has done for us over the centuries, as we prepare to celebrate the birth of the Messiah in a stable in Bethlehem.
This Prayer Meditation will be based on one of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. Light refreshments and fellowship will follow.
We encourage you to come in person, but if that is not possible, you can still participate in the Prayer Service through our live stream on stjulia.org at https://stjulia.org/livestream/ with just a click or two.
Won’t you join us?
Please feel free to contact Deacon Phil at director.of.ministries@stjulia.org with any questions that you may have.
