Into the Deep: Put out into deep water and lower your nets for a catch.
Though tired and disheartened, Simon Peter answers Jesus’s call to “put out into the deep”. His simple “yes” would not only fill his net, but also his heart. As Peter draws up the fish, Jesus draws Peter to himself. The Lord desires to draw all of us to himself through the Eucharist. As Archbishop Henning put it, “The whole point of the Eucharist is to draw us to the heart of God.”
‘Into the Deep’ is a Eucharistic procession during Corpus Christi weekend, Saturday, June 21 and Sunday, June 22, 2025 by which Archbishop Henning will bring Jesus in the Eucharist to the Archdiocese of Boston along the North shore to Boston Harbor, to draw all people into the loving, merciful heart of God. Let us put out into the deep so the Lord can draw us in.
Archbishop Henning invites everyone to come together and encounter the Lord through this special opportunity for community, prayer, and adoration as he brings Jesus in the Eucharist to coastal communities along the North Shore and Boston.
Local parish communities are sponsoring events at each of the waypoints (see Procession Route below), and activities may vary by location. An opening Mass will be hosted at Our Lady of Good Voyage, Gloucester, and a closing Mass will take place at Gate of Heaven, South Boston (also Live-streamed — see link below.)
