End Racism. Build Peace.

Please join us at the Weston Public Library, Community Room, as we observe the International Day of Peace, hosted by the Weston COA Social Justice Group.

The COA Social Justice Group will host a panel discussion on this year’s theme: “End Racism, Build Peace.”  to mark the occasion and continue the conversation to overcome racism and race discrimination.  The panel will be moderated by Select person Laurie A. Bent, with panelists Rev. Alicia Velez Stewart and Rev. James M. Hairston.  

Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on September 21st. The UN General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, through observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire.  Learn more about other events at the UN website.
