GENERATIONS OF FAITH: March 24th, 2019
Come and serve the Lord! Join us for a brief catechesis on Service, and then experience serving first hand by helping to put together meals for God’s children in Burkina Faso. We will be holding two sessions: 1:15 to 2:30, and 2:00 – 3:15. Space is limited, so be sure that you sign up every individual attending!
Pre-registration required.
This spring’s GOF will be an act of service to people in the country of Burkina Faso in West Africa. Our parish is taking action to feed our neighbors overseas and help reduce global hunger! Please register for one of the time slots to do the actual preparation and packing of meals to send to Burkina Faso. Our whole parish, children and adults ages 3 and up, is encouraged to participate! As with all GOFs, Religious Education and Youth Ministry students are expected to attend.
We have two ways you can do this – you are welcome to do either one, or both!
1. Come join us in learning about St. Julia Parish history of Service, and help package meals for hungry families in Burkina Faso, through the Catholic Relief Services – Helping Hands, on March 24. Sign up for a session (1:15 or 2:00) on our website, or contact Cindy Harrington.
2. Help sponsor the cost of the food and other supplies sent to Burkino Faso. We need to raise at least $5,076.00. As of February 6, we have only raised $750. Help! Checks are to be made payable to St. Julia Parish, earmarked CRS-Helping Hands. Please forward to Cindy Harrington at the Parish Center.
This is the third time our parish has taken part in the effort to relieve hunger in Burkina Faso. Here are some pictures from the first event 4 years ago!
