HELP Our AFGHAN Friends in Resettlement!
Your continued support is needed…
Catholic Charities requested St. Julia parish’s assistance with Afghan refugees resettling in the Boston area, and THANKS to our parish community — we have begun to give hope to our Afghan brothers by helping them begin a new life here.
St. Julia’s Partners Organized to Welcome Immigrants and Refugees (POWIR) committee, along with many parishioners and Catholic Charities, have been working diligently to assist three male Afghan refugees resettle into a comfortable apartment, obtain winter clothing, and currently they are ready to pursue their livelihoods in Massachusetts. Two were able to find jobs, and the third is now immersed in English language lessons. Becoming gainfully employed is a primary concern at this time, so that they can become independent and sustain their families.
Until that becomes a reality, our Afghan settlers continue to need our support until they are able to fully provide for themselves. If you are interested in joining the parish in assisting them, please click on our Sign-Up Genius, which lists the specific needs of our Afghan friends. Additionally, you may donate to the GoFundMe page set up for their cause.
We truly appreciate any help you are able to offer our resettlers. Please keep them in your prayers, as they acclimate to living in their new home in America.
