Note: a few sessions throughout the year will be “Joint Sessions” for both Middle and High School programs combined. CORE Leaders for BOTH levels will be needed to assist on those nights.
High School Formation Sessions-
Sunday Evenings, 6:00-7:30 PM during the Academic Year
The high school formation program is principally geared towards Confirmation preparation. Each session is carefully planned by the formation staff to include prayer, a large group presentation, small group discussion and large group wrap-up with prayer and the life story of a featured saint. CORE Adult Leaders in this setting will receive lesson plans and notes prior to each session and will be asked to partake in prayers and activities, facilitate small group discussion, and be willing to share their faith with candidates. If possible, CORE Leaders will also be asked to serve in a mentorship position for members of their small group, meeting with each candidate once per formation year. Training in small group discussion methods is available for all team members. CORE Adults who serve as team members in this ministry must be willing and available on come on a regular basis in order to keep small groups as consistent as possible.
Teens who have already been confirmed are invited to serve as team members for individual formation sessions to lead prayer, present the life of a saint, or give a witness talk.
Middle School Formation Sessions-
Sunday Evenings, 6:00- 7:30 PM during the Academic Year
Middle school formation sessions are planned by the formation staff and include both large-group and class-level components. 6th-8th Graders in formation will gather for prayer and content presentation, then will usually be split for further instruction and activities by grade level. CORE Adult Leaders are needed at these sessions to facilitate any large-group activities, as well as leading individual class levels (at least 2 per grade). Teen Leaders are highly encouraged to serve as assistant catechists, whether or not they are already confirmed. All CORE Leaders may occasionally be asked to present content or lead activities for the large group. Training and materials will be provided.
