Dear Friends,
Our Easter Season continues and our voices are raised with “Alleluia” praises. Our readings during this season tell us of the early Church and the spreadof the Gospel in the Acts of the Apostles. The Gospels continue to enlighten us with the appearances of the Resurrected Christ. Christ, risen from the dead, changes everything. The cross becomes a sign of redemption. The empty tomb shows forth our salvation. It was wonderful to experience my First Holy Week and Easter as your parish priest. I am so very grateful for the wonderful participation of the community in our Liturgies. The Rites of Holy Week require a great deal of organization. I extend my profound gratitude to Janice Carroll for coordinating our Liturgies and putting all in place for solemn and joyful celebrations. Thank you to the numerous helpers and volunteers, of all ages, who assisted as acolytes and altar servers, lectors, Eucharistic ministers, musicians and choir members, decorators and floral display artists, ushers, sacristans and clean-up crews. Clearly, the Spirit of the Risen Lord is in our midst!
This past weekend, we had the opportunity to come together for a family pasta supper while entertained and inspired by the Archdiocesan Black Choir. It was a wonderful parish social and fundraiser. The evening was a sell-out, filling our Parish Hall. Again, a wonderful team of parishioners put the event together and worked diligently to put out a great meal and entertaining evening. Thank you to all who helped and all who supported our parish pasta social. May this Easter Season lead us to continued growth and joy in the Risen Lord. Let our Alleluias loudly ring forth!
In Christ’s Peace,
Fr. Mark
