Did you know……that the Fourth Sunday of Advent this year is also the day before Christmas— Christmas Eve? This is the shortest season of Advent we can have!
On this final Sunday of Advent, we hear in the Gospel of Luke the Annunciation story. This is when the angel Gabriel tells Mary that God wants her to be the mother of his son, and with complete trust in God, she agrees. We celebrate the Feast of the Annunciation on March 25, which is nine months before December 25, Christmas day. This year, the Fourth Sunday of Advent ends when the Christmas Masses start. They are two separate celebrations—one reminding us to keep preparing ourselves for when Jesus comes again, and the other celebrating the day Jesus first arrived on earth!
May you all have a blessed Christmas season, but remember to always keep the Advent preparation in your heart and lives!
Parents—be sure that you have put all of your child’s grade level events on your 2018 calendar! The children and at least on parent are expected to participate in the Café Julia and Family Gathering moments! Children preparing to receive the Sacraments MUST attend the workshops!
