DID YOU KNOW??? St. Julia Parish has a lively and active St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) Conference that provides two basic services for its neighbors in Lincoln, Weston, and occasionally families from nearby towns: we run a monthly food pantry for approximately 25 households encompassing about 50 children and adults, and we provide emergency financial assistance and guidance to clients referred by town groups, churches, and neighbors. Many volunteers are involved in these endeavors and more are welcome!
If you are a donor of food, monies, or services to the SVDP projects throughout the year (Holiday Meals, Mentoring, pantry support, etc.) please know that EVERYONE’S, BUT ESPECIALLY YOUR effort makes a difference and conveys to struggling families that there is a loving and caring community of Christians here for them. We especially thank the parents of children at the 9 AM Mass who are able to engage their young children in an act of generosity and kindness when they bring food items for donation at the Offertory.
In early September we are planning an announcement regarding training for people interested in SVDP….stay tuned.
