Gloria in excelsis Deo! Chistmas is here and songs of joy and praise resound. God so loved that world that he sent His own beloved Son to bring us the fullness of redemption. Lights burn bright and candles glim-mer as we celebrate the dawn of our salvation. The birth of Jesus Christ changed everything. To a world steeped in darkness, a Light was given. We are now children of that Light. Our celebration of the Savior’s birthday renews our commitment to reflect the Light of Christ in the world today.
Enlightened by Christ we continue to share the flame of faith in many and varied ways. Our Liturgies are enhanced by the many wonderful cantors, choir members and musicians who share their love of Sacred Music with us. Ministers of the Word and Eucharist, Sacristans, Servers, and Ushers graciously give of their time and talent to assist at Masses throughout the week. How great it is to see the tremendous outpouring of help for needy families with our churches “Giving Trees” and our St. Vincent de Paul Society. The concern and compassionate care for the less fortunate has also been clearly evident in on–going food donations, drives, and so many other outreach efforts in our community.
The Christian witness of so many parishioners who volunteer to help is wonderful to see and we always need helpers. I am so grateful for those who assist with our various programs, faith formation, small groups, and parish activities! At Christmas and throughout the year, we have a common mission in the work of evangelization – the sharing of our faith, hope and love in Jesus Christ. Thank you for all that you do to support the Church and build up the Body of Christ.
